==================== Federated League of Basketball Association 1984 Playoffs Second Round Game 3 between the 1st seeded Boston Celtics and the 5th seeded Chicago Bulls - May 5, 1984 ==================== GAME 3 Preview: Celtics (0-2) vs. Bulls (2-0) Game 2 was another nail biter between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls. Throughout the beginning of the game, it was such a back and forth contest, until the Celtics pulled ahead to enter the half with a 5 point lead. They quickly built upon that to start the 3rd quarter, stretching the lead to 11 at one point. Their 3 point shooting, however, kept the Bulls in striking distance. Pace Mannion kept the Bulls in the game during the 3rd quarter, fueling their comeback from the double digit deficit scoring 13 during his stint and hitting three 3's. There were several lead changes in the 4th quarter, but with 3:00 on the clock and trailing the Celtics 105-104, Ronald McDonald took charge of the next three possessions. He hit back to back 3's and then found the cutting Geiger for the assist, propelling the Bulls to the 105-112 lead with 2:03 left in the game. That 57 second long microburst proved to be too much for the Celtics to overcome. Ronald McDonald only scored 8 points in the first half, struggling to find his shot, but he recovered in the second half, scoring 24 over the final two quarters. King Domoeezzzzyyyy kept showing the league his playmaking skills, finishing with 12 assists and some of the flashiest passes you'll ever see. The breakneck speed of these youthful Bulls is proving to be a major problem for the top team in the East.
