3D Printed Turbine Powered Saab Draken First Flight

First flight of the 3D printed Saab Draken which is based on my 3D printed 50mm edf J35 Saab Draken. The Model is 2m long and weights 4.3 kg without fuel. A Kingtech K45G4 jet turbine powers the Draken model. Fun fact: At full throttle the turbine spins at almost 4000 revolutions per second!!! That is 232.000 revolutions per minute!!! The fuel tank holds 0.8 liters of fuel and should provide 6-8 minutes of flight time. In the video the tank was not completely full because of previous unsuccessful takeoff attempts. The turbine flame out was due to the tank being empty. The model is printed from LW-PLA with 0.25mm layers - 7800 of them!
