Day 1 - St Bees to Ennerdale Water - Wainwrights Coast to Coast 2022

============================= Wainwrights Coast to Coast - 2022 ============================= At the end of May 2022 I challenged myself to take on the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk. This is a 192 mile walk starting on the West Coast at St.Bees travelling through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors to finally arrive in Robin Hoods Bay. This is my first long distance hike and can honestly say it was an amazing experience and even contemplating doing it again. I completed the walk in 11 days and produced a short vlog for each day and hope you enjoy the journey. I always planned to take on this challenge solo, however my friend Nicola was available for the first 4 days and wanted to join me. We met face-to-face for the first time the night before and have to say we clicked instantly and was brilliant company. To start the Coast to Coast we left our hotel right on the coast and headed straight to the start line and collected our pebbles and dipped our feet in the sea. The walk takes you along the coast, past the lighthouse and eventually after plenty of fields you hit the famous Wainwright Statue. The weather was amazing, brutally warm but just what we needed. Another long stretch and steep climb up to Dent and we had a little rest and some snacks whilst taking in the views and a little rest for our feet. After this we would head into the Lakes and to our destination of Ennerdale Water. We managed to find a great pitch on the water and managed a dip too...albeit whilst being eaten by midge.
