There is nothing more disheartening than fishing side by side with someone, using the same tools and techniques and getting badly outfished. I mean like 20 to 0 over two trips. That's what happened with me and John Skinner where I miserably failed at his very unique style of targeting stripers off some of the rips in Eastern Long Island. They say the third time is the charm and it was for me on this day. This is actually Part 1 of this epic trip all focusing on the "jig the bucktail just off the bottom" technique (someone will need to come up with a better name for this).
