Candidates of the 5th MITSUI Golden Takumi Award【第5回三井ゴールデン匠賞 入選者発表】

20 winners who have contributed to the sustainability and development of Japan's traditional crafts were announced. The Mitsui Golden Takumi Award was established with the desire to support the activities of traditional craftspeople who are working sincerely to create products that will connect to the future while inheriting Japanese traditions, and further developing them. Through this award, we will support efforts to connect Japanese traditions to the next generation. For the 5th award, we received entries showcasing a wide range of initiatives from traditional craft artisans dedicated to preserving Japan’s tradition while pursuing and further developing their craft for the future. The entries were more diverse than ever. They included, for example, entries from artisans creating new appeal by merging unique, novel techniques with traditional methods and those exploring a greater integration of traditional crafts with modern times.
