Today on our 2015 Jeep Renegade, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number is C56274. When you're ready to use your trailer, you pull up your cover, take your wire out. You're going to lay it over the sill plate here across the weather strip which is going to help hold it in place. Just make sure you stay away from the center where the latch is going to be. You just close your hatch over top of it, then you hitch it up to your trailer. When you're all done, you can open up your hatch, curl it back up, and you can actually use the weather tight cover as a loop to hold it, our wiring. Just wrap it around the outside, then we'll just lay it back inside there until you're ready to use it again. Here's what your kit's going to consist of. We're going to have our module light with our 4-pole flat connector and our weather tight cap; our two T-connectors, one for the driver side, one for the passenger side; our fuse holder; some wire that's going to power our unit from the back all the way up to the front in the battery. We'll have some zip ties, some two-sided tape to hold our box, and some miscellaneous hardware. The reason you're going to want this module light, it's going to be a separately powered system that's not going to allow any backfeeding or shorts from your trailer to affect your vehicle's wiring harness, therefore causing an expensive problem down the road. Simple plug and play operation. The only wire you're going to have to run is going to be the 12-volt powering from the box up to the front of the car and attach it to the battery with the fuse holder. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it. We're going to come over to the rear of the vehicle. We're going to remove this cargo floor, and also the lower one that would normally cover a spare tire if your vehicle happens to have one. This one does not. Then we're going to remove both of these access panels to gain access to the back of our taillight. We're going to use a panel tool or you can use a flat blade screwdriver. You're just going to pop it out. We'll set it aside. Now you'll see we have access to the back of our taillight. On the bottom side of our plug there's a little tab you can push up on, so we're going to squeeze up on that tab and we'll pull back. That'll release our light. We're going to do that for both sides. On the driver side we're going to go ahead and remove the taillight so we can get some access to drop our 12-volt wire that's going to run to our battery. We're going to take this little thumb screw here, this plastic one, and we'll just loosen it up. We'll take that out, then we can just pull our taillight out of the way. You want to make sure you actually keep your hand on this as you're loosening up the screw on the inside because the light can fall out and hit the ground. We're going to need to remove this rear sill panel so we can run our wire from side to side, so we're going to start by popping these covers up. Do that on both sides. We're going to take a T40 Torx socket and we'll remove our hold-downs. Set these aside. Now we're going to use a T25. We're going to add three bolts. We'll have one here, one in the middle, one on this side. We'll just grab this and pull up on it and set it aside. Now we're going to take our 12-volt black wiring. We're going to feed it through from the outside of the vehicle and we're going to come to the inside here and we can attach it to our module box. We'll take our wire. We can strip back about 1/4 of an inch and take one of our yellow supplied butt connectors. We're going to slip it onto the wire, crimp it down nice and tight. We're going to take the black wire out of our module box and we're going to put it in the other half of our butt connector. Then we'll go ahead and wrap it up with a little bit of electrical tape. I'm going to feed this back a little bit. Then we can go ahead and on the outside here and we're going to route our wiring down between the bumper and the body to drop that on the bottom side of the vehicle. Now we're going to take an old piece of airline tubing to use as a fish wire. We're going to go down in between the body here and get it to drop out on the bottom side. Then we can pull our wiring down to the bottom of the vehicle. Now we can just reach up behind our bumper and pull down our airline tubing. Now we're going to attach our wire. We're going to feed it inside of our airline tubing a little bit, then we'll take some tape and we can just go ahead and fish it down. Once we have that f
