ANGELIC CONVERSATION DIQ 2017 | BUCK-TICK | English subtitles

Song from the album Taboo. Music and lyrics by Hisashi Imai. The performance is from the Day in Question 2017 All rights to the owners of the music and video, I merely translated the lyrics and prefer to use live clips. Notes of translation: In the line「蟻地獄にbacchus bless」which I translated as "Bacchus bless the inescapable sand pit" the word 蟻地獄 (Arijigoku) literally translates to “ant hell” or “ant lion” and can even refer to the sand pit trap dug by an antlion larva, it’s also used in Japanese to express a situation that’s difficult to escape In the line 「蛇苺をふみつぶせ」which I translated as "Crushing mock strawberries" the word 蛇苺 (Hebiichigo) literally means “snake strawberry” and refers to the Potentilla indica plant that looks like a strawberry but it’s not therefore it's refered as a mock-strawberry In the line 「夢を喰いちぎるバクを狩り大蛇に乗る」which I translated as "Hunting the dream eater and riding a great snake" the word バク (Baku) is used. Baku (獏) is a Yōkai/Demon that devours dreams and also refers to the Tapirus (バク) so in order to make it understandable I used the term "Dream eater" The line 「海にまざり合う dragon and oh, boy」was a bit confusing as it was mixing English with Japanese in a way that could mean that "a boy and a dragon blend in the ocean" or the "oh, boy" could be an expression of surprise and excitement in which case we could say "oh boy, the ocean and a dragon blend together" but I feel like both lines could be correct.
