"Darkness" (Demon) by pocke | Geometry Dash 2.2

Several people have been telling me to check this level out, and I can definitely see why. pocke has always made really interesting levels, but with this one being over 6 minutes long, you can already tell it's going to be a special addition to his works just from the length alone. It's quickly clear that this one also stands out due to more focus on art rather than effects like in his other levels I've uploaded. The art isn't too detailed, but it's got a nice style and does the job conveying various scenery in a cool way. Admittedly, some parts feel like they drag out a bit to me, but with such a long overall length, there's still enough parts with varied visuals. Some parts being longer also makes sense due to the song's structure and progression, and pocke handles this well overall. In terms of gameplay, I found this really enjoyable to beat. Typically I'm not a fan of levels this long as you end up spending so much time beating them if you die later on, but the difficulty of this was just right for me to not get impatient in that sense. It also feels very balanced and consistent from part to part, with no parts standing out as particularly frustrating. With a practice run or two, you should be able to beat the whole thing quite fast. It will probably still be rated as an Easy Demon, though, simply due to the length and some parts being a bit fast when you first play. Note that it was made for a song by Sweet Trip that is unfortunately not on Newgrounds. However, there is an available cover that fits pretty well, but the best experience is obviously with the original song, which is used in this video.
