"commatose" (Demon) by rply | Geometry Dash 2.2

ImMaxX1 asked me a few weeks ago if I'd be interested in showcasing and Premiering rply's new masterpiece, and after seeing the quality it maintains for over 9 minutes, I knew I had to do it. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of beating levels this long myself when they get a bit hard, as I'm quite impatient and don't like how long such levels take to beat simply because each attempt can last minutes, but I like the visuals and overall execution a lot. Even though the gameplay within each part isn't that hard, the level will most at least Hard Demon due to the extreme length. Now, let's talk about the visuals of this level. In the first minute or so, I'd say the level is a bit boring; it's quite empty without any interesting designs or decorations nor much color variety. In normal length levels, this is something I'd tell the creator to try to implement to make their level stand out more. However, in a level this long that clearly tries to synchronize not only with the song's individual parts but also its progression, it works well. These long buildups in the calmer parts of the song make the climaxes hit so much harder, and the visuals definitely get turned up several notches there. Here, lots of rough but cool designs with fitting art and effects are introduced. Additionally, it switches between blue and orange, which is a pretty neat color combination that isn't done too often; as you see in the video, these are the two main colors throughout the entire level. I particularly like the little color pulses, movements, and effects that synchronize perfectly to the song's guitar and drums at the faster parts. This, on top of the aforementioned visual progression, makes this an incredible example of song representation in Geometry Dash. Of course, I did mention that I didn't beat this myself, so it remains to be seen how much people enjoy the overall playing experience. With the individual parts being quite easy, though, I wouldn't expect any major issues. It's more about whether you like endurance levels or not. If you do, then I'm certain you should try this out. There were also many playtesters involved here, so I'm sure any issues were ironed out. Note that the song in this video is not available in-game, but they got a replacement song on Newgrounds made, which should synchronize quite well too. It'll be very interesting to see how RobTop ends up rating this. Personally, it's been really fun to get to follow rply's progression from their parts in various collaborations over the last year to this insane solo project. I can't wait to see where they go from here. ★ Become a Member of my channel for special perks: https://www.youtube.com/viprin/join VIDEO INFORMATION Recorded by ‪@ImMaxX1‬ Game (version): Geometry Dash (2.2) Level: "commatose" by rply ID: 110653463 Music: "commatose" by glass beach    • commatose   LINKS Discord:   / discord   Twitter:   / vipringd   Twitch:   / viprin   Thumbnail by Erdyuri:   / erdyuri
