TreyMan Shows Adversity the Door at OMP

"resilience in the face of adversity" Adversity is exactly what Trey Man Millhisler faced at Owosso Motorsports Park for round 2 of NEEDT Short Track on what was supposed to be our fun night this season at the track. On what could have ended so badly for his mental health, ended with a night of being so proud. We decided for oval this year he was just going to let the DRR rip. Just go have fun was number one for that night. We had everything ready to go and when we left home, the quad was running great. Maybe you can say our OMP luck hit us again…who knows. With trouble hitting right from the start, 4 heat races and 2 Main events on schedule we flew back to the pits in between each one to try to get her going. Between people calling 2 minutes for us, running us back and forth, flooding our pits with tools and helping hands and even calling us to help from the trackside, WE CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!! You all know who you are, we’d be reading this for days if we listed all of you there were that many! Here’s the most important part…. Trey Man literally never gave up. He hit that track each time giving it all he had. One good lap is all he would get before she started to loose fuel. After the 4th heat he came back calmly and then went into his room in his camper and just let the tears fall. He did exactly what we taught him to do in a moment of frustration and frustration was definitely deserved after all of that. For about 5 minutes he was “done for the night”. We talked it out for a minute, gear was off and he was in bed sobbing. And then, he did something he’s never been able to overcome until now. He said, “Mom, if you can find me a quad I’ll run whatever I can. I just want to race.” Do you know how many times we’ve tried to get him to do that!? He’s always had a thing of only riding his own quad and even lost two national races from not doing that in the past. Hearing those words alone was music to our ears! Thank God the Turners have 50 big bore DRRs in that trailer 🤣 There was no hesitation when we asked which is a hard pill to swallow to have to ask to borrow a quad but Trey hoped on that thing and flew up to the track with Josh to race an LCQ while Dad kept working on his quad. Changing a quad means a back row start so from the back row Trey came out and won the LCQ on the Turners 70cc #102 machine! Trey was pumped and headed into the 2 main events. Trey made a couple of passes and finished the night with a smile on his face. “That thing rips!” he says 😂 Trey Man was sponsored that weekend by Pat's Gradall Service who chose that weekend in our home state of Michigan to be there featured race!
