A Homemade Upholstery Pattern Notcher - Car upholstery

All the upholsterers know the 'notches' are guides or reference points to do a precise sewing. While sewing procedure the 'notches' should meet one in front of the other. Most of the times a pair of scissors are useful to do the so called 'V notches'. But, it is possible to get one of these devices at an upholstery store to consider it in our shop. Even though, I can buy one from the aftermarket I would rather do it myself. This time a pair of 'grozing pliers' one of those tools a 'glassworker' uses to chew off/nibble glass edges would be useful. These pliers have a flat lower part and the upper part is arched. As we can see, a mototool and a set of small grinding stones and milling cutters are useful for this project. Although procedure is somehow tedious and time consuming I have enjoyed a lot giving shape to this small upholstery tool. I hope you also enjoy the video and inspire yourself! Cesar
