Originally part of the ecclesiastical parish of Preston village, the Church of the Good Shepherd is an Anglican church located on the border of Brighton and Hove. The simple Gothic building was designed by Edward Prioleau Warren in the 1920s and was listed by English Heritage as Grade II in 1999. It is almost a cross between a classic old church, and a modern building, making it a really nice atmosphere within the church, which itself is found on a rather busy road on the top of a rather large hill, Dyke Road. The bells themselves are the first ever harmonically tuned ring of bells out of Whitechapel, being M&S 1927. However, the brick tower and the concrete celing of the ringing room creates a loud clapper-knock sound, which makes the bells slightly difficult to hear. However, they are still rather pleasant to ring regardless some odd struckness and very long sallies!
