Lesson - Pat Metheny Vibe, several methenyism licks In this lesson I talk about my approach to getting a pat metheny vibe. There are several components to this: 1) Turn the tone control down 2) Mute the strings near the bridge with the right edge of your right hand 3) Optional - Use a slight slapback delay 330ms, low mix, low feedback. 4) Optional - Use a laminate archtop 3 and 4 are not required. Ulf Wakenius gets a great metheny vibe on a Les Paul copy without the delay. In the lesson I present some detail about how to play 3 methenyesque licks. Two of them are actual metheny licks and the 3rd is one of my own but it evokes the metheny style which involves pull offs to "nowhere" and hammerons from nowhere.
