Mevotech is a 30 year old Canadian based automotive parts manufacturer. Thank You Mevotech! In this video, we'll be replacing the lower ball joint on a 2002 Honda Civic. What makes this service unusual is that the ball joint is pressed fitted into the steering knuckle in lieu of control arm. To get access to press out this ball joint, the steering knuckle should be detached from the lower control arm and suspension strut. The ball joint can then be pressed out using a standard ball joint press kit using Honda specific press adapters. The Mevotech ball joint came with a press adapter to ease installation of the new ball joint to prevent damage during installation. The Mevotech donated ball joint is a TTX (Terrain Tough Extreme) series part designed for taxis and fleet service to outperform and outlast standard OE replacement ball joints.
