Sahjan fali ki sabzi, is a flavorful and nutritious Indian dish made from the long, slender pods of the moringa tree (sahjan). Cooked with a blend of spices, onions, tomatoes, and sometimes coconut, this curry has a unique taste and texture, with the tender drumstick flesh releasing a mild, slightly sweet flavor. It's a popular dish in many Indian households, especially in South India, and is often enjoyed with rice or chapati. #namakshamak #chefharpalsingh #recipe #indianfood #food Ingredients quantity Drum sticks 6 no Water as required Salt to taste Turmeric powder 1 tsp Oil 1 tbsp Coconut grated ¼ cup Asafoetida 1 tsp Mustard seeds 1 tsp Cumin seeds 1 tsp Dry red chilli 3 no Bengal gram 1 tsp Curry leaves 10-15 no Ginger chopped 1 tbsp Garlic chopped 1 tbsp Green chilli chopped 4 no Onion chopped 1 no Salt to taste Tomato chopped 2 no Coriander powder 1 tsp Turmeric powder ½ tsp Red chilli powder ½ tsp Garam masala ½ tsp Jaggery 1 tbsp Tamarind paste 1 ½ tsp Coriander chopped ½ cup Method 1.Wash and cut the drumsticks into 3-4 inch pieces. Slightly peel the outer skin. 2.Place a pressure cooker on medium flame and add water, salt, turmeric powder and peeled drumstick cook until 2 whistle. Drain and set aside. 3.Place a kadai on medium flame and heat oil. 4.Take a mixer jar and add grated coconut grind smooth paste. 5.In a kadai add asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and dry red chilli sauté for a minute. 6.Add Bengal gram, curry leaves, chopped ginger and chopped garlic saute well. 7.Now add chopped green chilli and sauté for a minute. 8.Add chopped onion and salt sauté for 2-3 minute. 9.Add chopped tomato and sauté for 2-3 minute. 10.Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala sauté for a minute. 11.Add boiled drumstick water and mix well. 12.Take boiled drumstick and take out the pulp with the help of fork. 13.Add jaggery and tamarind paste mix well. 14.Now add freshly chopped coriander and drumstick pulp mix well. 15.Add grind coconut paste and mix well. 16.Finally side out in serving bowl and enjoy sahjan fali ki sabzi.
