Evolution of the Assault Rifle Part II - Progress From Vietnam Into The 21st Century

This is an overview of the history, development, and evolution of what we think of today as the "assault rifle." In the second part, we look at the rifles made to fire the small caliber, high velocity 5.56 NATO and 5.45 Russian rounds. With the first generation we have the original Colt M16/M16A1, H&K HK33, and FN CAL. Generation 2 was kicked off by the Armalite AR-18 and lead to such firearms as the FN FNC, Beretta AR70, SiG SG550, and even H&K G36 perhaps. The 3rd Generation began with the FN SCAR and has given us such rifles as the CZ 805 Bren and Bren 2, Beretta ARX160, and many modern AR15/M4 variants. Also in this video, we look at the bullpup path from the Steyr STG.77 AUG, FAMAS, Enfield L85, and into modern versions such as the Tavor and X95. This video is intended for education, as well as entertainment. All firearms featured live in this video are civilian legal, semi-auto only versions. Included are.... Arsenal SLR105A1 as Russian AK-74, Sterling AR180 as Armalite AR-18, Steyr AUG SA as STG.77 AUG-A1, Colt LE6921 as original M4 Carbine, Beretta ARX100 as Italian ARX160, And IWI X95 as IDF X95.
