Yet, on Saturday night at Azusa Pacific University, Chino Hills’ players, coaches, parents and supporters were dancing and celebrating on the court after a 72-56 win over Pasadena for the CIF-SS Division 1 championship. It was a shining moment for the players and coach Dennis Latimore, who paid little attention those who thought the glory days at Chino Hills were in the past. On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Huskies return to the state playoffs with a home game against Chula Vista Mater Dei Catholic (24-7) in Division 1.
