Improve your blocking success with these simple catcher drills!

We need to keep the ball close. Ball control Is paramount in helping prevent runners from advancing. We need to do our best to make the ball hit us near our belly button. It’s not always possible but if we can do that, we can control the ball. Use these three drills to help improve you or your catchers blocking success: ⚾️ 1. No hands tennis ball blocking - This deill takes the hands “out of the equation” and forces the catcher to block with their body only. ⚾️ 2. Rolling blocks - It’s importat to get the hands down and keep them down so the ball cant go under our body and through the “5-hole.” ⚾️ 3. Block and balance - In order to recover quickly, you have got to be under control and balanced during the block.
