Youtuber Irfan Sparks Outrage by Filming Umbilical Cord Cutting in Hospital | News9

Popular YouTuber and food vlogger Irfan has ignited controversy once again by posting a video in which he cuts the umbilical cord of his newborn inside a private hospital's operation theatre. The video has amassed 1.4 million views within two days, sparking significant outrage. The Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services (DMS) plans to issue show cause notices to Irfan, the hospital in Sholinganallur, and the doctor involved. J. Rajamoorthy, Director of Medical and Rural Health Services, stated, "An operation theatre should be sterile, but he has taken a camera and shot a video inside. Only a trained healthcare person can cut the umbilical cord soon after delivery." He noted that the hospital could face action under the Tamil Nadu Clinical Establishments Act, and a report on the doctor will be sent to the Tamil Nadu Medical Council.
