Zappos Art Director Brad Swonetz began his career as a photo assistant in Los Angeles. He later worked for several big publications and brands, such as InStyle, New York Times Magazine, Sony and Google. Now, he's taking his knack for visual storytelling and bringing it into the space of e-commerce. But at the advice of his teacher, he went to Los Angeles and became a photo assistant. As his photography skills progressed and his career became more established, Swonetz was hired by several prominent publications and brands, such as InStyle, The New York Times Magazine, Sony and Google. The story is as important as capturing a moment in time. Now, he’s taking his knack for visual storytelling and bringing it into the realm of e-commerce. Says Swonetz, “If you want to measure your success, you want to really love what you’re shooting.” NOTE: This story was filmed prior to the coronavirus pandemic and the closing of Zappos’ Las Vegas HQ in March.
