Britain Mill is a water powered grist mill nestled on the banks of Turnback Creek in Lawrence County, Missouri. Britain grist mill is a small water powered grist mill used to grind corn into cornmeal. Once powered by a turbine the current mill is set up to run by a undershot wheel. Although the modern version of the equipment inside is actually electrically operated, the unique history of the site is worth exploring.
