El partido de Lanús se encuentra en la zona sur de la Región Metropolitana de Buenos Aires. Limita con la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires por medio del Riachuelo y con los partidos de Avellaneda, Quilmes y Lomas de Zamora. Lanús se divide en 6 localidades, conformadas, cada una, por variedad de barrios. Ellas son: Lanús Oeste, Lanús Este, Remedios de Escalada, Gerli, Valentín Alsina y Monte Chingolo. Lanús Oeste es la cabecera del Partido, en el funciona la sede municipal. The Lanús district is located in the southern zone of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Region.
