This hotel is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It dates back to the early 1800s and is located on Pennsylvania Avenue. Yes, it is literally across the street from the White House. This makes it an ideal location if you plan to visit Washington D.C. Several of the United States presidents have stayed here including Abraham Lincoln. Here is a fun fact: the Kentucky Statesman, Henry Clay, was the first to introduce the Mint Julep outside of Kentucky. It is the hotel's signature cocktail. You can find one in the Round Robin Bar which is inside the hotel.
