Sound Design | Enhance Your Design EP.1 | Professional Creates Slow Motion Guns & Reload

Join the Discord!   / discord   Yo yo! So I decided to put my money where my mouth is and did my best to show you guys how I would design this slow motion gunshot and reload moment from the previous Reel Review (EP.1)! If you're new to sound design or trying to find tutorials or courses, you've come to the right place! My channel is all about helping people create the best sounds possible! ***This video was shot very late at night and with family members who I'm quarantining with who were sleeping, so my voice and energy are a bit lower in this one. I hope you still stick around for the video as I think there's a lot of good stuff to learn and share in there! Links: IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1218771/?... I currently still work for a very successful trailer company and am unable to reveal any of our trade secrets, but I have still learned enough on my own while in the industry to hopefully help you become even better at the craft! Even if you're already a professional, this content is made to help expand and share ideas, concepts, and creative visions... so by all means, let's chat! I'd love to hear your own tips and ideas, and I answer each and every comment so I'm looking forward to chatting :) If you have a sound design question, scene you're having trouble with, or a reel that you'd like me to review - reach out! Leave me a comment, or email me: [email protected] In this tutorial I aim to give practical, easy-to-approach advice for creating awesome slow motion gun shots and slomo reloads. We use Boom library sounds to create big metal sounding hits which translate well to a shooting gun. I also give very useful tips for editing complex sequences like this, by placing markers where your transient moments need to happen so you can organize all of your elements into super cool, yet cohesive moments. When too many transients are staggered around things quickly lose impact and become busy and unfocused. If you can't afford libraries like boom and want to record your source material instead, get a decent recording setup or even a handheld recorder, and find some big cool metal stuff either around your house or somewhere out in the wild :) Record it in a very high sample rate, and do close up and distant recordings. Record all variations of movement of the metal and you should be able to pitch it down and process it just like I did! If you don't have or can't afford filter freak, you can always hand-automate your EQ to give it the "surreal" effect! Remember I will answer EVERY comment that asks a question, so if I leave anything out in these videos or you just want to say hi, please feel free! The goal here isn't for me to show off or build myself up; but to build a helpful and encouraging community that we can all gain inspiration and guidance from. I am very open to learning stuff from you guys, so please share any tips or tricks you have or can think of during these videos! Everything show in the above video is purely for entertainment, I do not guarantee any specific results or outcomes from it. If there are any copyright or trademark issues please contact me directly at my business address listed on my YouTube profile and I will happily work with you to resolve it!
