Homemade transcripted guitar cover of "Souvenirs" taken from The Gathering's "Souvenirs" album (2003) in standard E tuning with capo on the 2nd fret. 0:00 - intro 0:33 - verse 1 1:06 - verse 2 1:40 - chorus 1 2:02 - verse 3 2:34 - chorus 2 3:09 - break 3:47 - solo 5:10 - outro About 2 hours of work and 6 takes to get this result. I wanted to cover a song of The Gathering for a long time but I hadn't found the right one... Until this week when that one just appeared to me, from my favorite release of the band. A simply beautiful song as The Gathering knows (or maybe knew) how to create. I used some live versions for the transcription of the chorus ; I also had to improvise for the break because I couldn't hear the guitar... So it's not totally accurate. I think the original tuning is C and it might make some left hand positions easier but it's not that hard this way. it doesn't prevent me from making mistakes though :p Recorded with an iRig2, a smartphone and my Cort Viva Gold II.
