Packrafting Sauk River - White Chuck to Darrington (Class III+) A February packraft run down the Wild and Scenic Sauk River in Washington State. Our 8 mile run started at the Sauk River gauge located about 1/4 mile upstream of the White Chuck Boat Launch and finished at Blackman County Park, near Darrington. The run includes eight Class III rapids: Rocky Road, Six of One, Alligator Drop, Half Dozen of the Other, Jaws, Whirlpool (which we ran twice), Dragon’s Back and The Game Show. With the river running at 2000cfs, which is at the lower end of the runnable range, we ran into just a few bumps on the river bottom.
