[NEW/ Refurbished] Czech Tatra 815 Terrno 1 Fire Engine - Lichkov Volunteer Fire Department [5.2024]

A spontaneous stop turned out great with some interesting stories and beautiful footage of a refurbished fire engine 🙂 In August 2023 Lichkov Vol. Fire Dept. received this 2005 Tatra 815 4x4.2 Terrno 1 from Žamberk Fire Department. The guys completely overhauled the 18 year old fire engine. As usual for Czech volunteer fire departments, the work has been done all by themselves over the coming months. The official handover was scheduled for the 25th May 2024 but due to a lucky coincidence, I got to see it a day earlier 😊 On the outside the engine received new graphics as well as new red and blue lights. The village of Lichkov has a population of just around 500 but the department covers the surrounding mountainous area as well. They respond to an approximate 7 calls per year. An interesting quirk of these 815 Terrno's are the cabin doors. They're identical except for that presumably changeable bottom part. I assume this was done by Tatra to cut production costs.
