German Volunteer Fire Department First Responder Ambulance - Light setup, Exterior & Interior [2023]

This ambulance is more interesting than you may think. Read more below 🔽 Here's a look at the exterior, emergency lighting and interior of a Kleinmachnow Vol. Fire Dept. (legally just medical transport/ BLS) ambulance. The unit is used as what is being called a "First Responder" in Germany. First Responder vehicles are typically cars that some German volunteer fire departments and volunteer disaster relief groups use to respond to urgent and critical medical calls as well as to medical calls where regular EMS ambulances are too far away. First Responder Units take care of patients until a regular EMS ambulance arrives. EMS is then taking over and if necessary transports the patient. Kleinmachnow is different for two reasons. First of all they're using an actual ambulance instead of a car. The second reason is that they're not really in a rural area since Kleinmachnow borders Berlin and another city. They still frequently respond to EMS calls and make a difference in the outcome of these calls. The closest regular EMS ambulance is - if available - still at least 5 minutes away. The vehicle itself is bit out of the ordinary too since it features a few more emergency lights than you'd typically see on a German ambulance. Apart from that it also features white LED's which is rare on German emergency vehicles as well as wig wags which is also very uncommon here. The vehicle was formerly used as a regular ambulance at an EMS agency in Bremen, Germany. Kleinmachnow Fire overhauled and updated the vehicle. They have also added equipment labels and colored them by category. 0:00 Front 0:05 Front Driver Side 0:12 Front 0:20 Front Passenger Side 0:43 Passenger Side 0:59 Rear Passenger Side 1:05 Rear 1:14 Rear Driver Side 1:21 Exterior Compartments Passenger Side 1:35 Interior/ Patient Area 2:24 Exterior Compartment Driver Side 2:29 Cabin 2:54 Grille Lighting 2:59 Front Roof Lighting, 2-tone air horns 3:05 Rear Lighting 3:11 Side Light/ Marker Light Kleinmachnow, Brandenburg, Germany, December 2023.
