Saz Cura and Ganesh Sitarlyra during Neptune healing soundmeditation concert - John Kremer The cura is the smallest in the saz family of stringinstruments, which is used nowadays mainly in Turkey and other Middle East countries. There are 4 different sizes and types of saz instruments. These instruments actually have there origin in Central Asia, but they are nowadays mostly used in the Middle East. In their tonscale they not only have whole notes and half notes, but also microtones (1/4 notes). By adding the 1/4 notes to the music we can create that typical Middle and Far East flavour to the music that sometimes sounds a litte strange to the Western trained ear, because here in the West we hardly use the microtones anymore. In this video the cura is not tuned like it normally is in Middle East music, but it's tuned in the basic tone of the planet Neptune, which is an open tuning. With an open tuning the instrument is ready for playing it more or less like a sitar or Far East music. The power of the rising water, which belongs to the planet Neptune, washes away the old and allows the new to be born. The flowing water is also the stream of life, which is constantly changing. Neptune therefore has a transformative energy. The basic tone/vibration that belongs to Neptune forms the basis of this meditative sound healing concert, on which tone John Kremer builds his intuitive improvisations with various meditative string instruments, singing by voice, singing bowls and gongs. This tone also belongs, energetically, to the area around the nose and ears (between the throatchakra and third eye ). Immerse yourself in a healing sound bath.
