Another misconception concerning the Coming of Jesus is what Matthew 24:40-41 says: "Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left." This verse is also used as a support to the Doctrine of the Rapture of the Church. Because it speaks of "one will be taken and the other left". Therefore, it is believed by the majority that this speaks of the Church be the one that is 'taken' and the rest are those who are 'left'. The ones that are left, are the good ones! We see an example of this in the story of Noah. Jesus used this story to illustrate what His Coming is going to be like, just in a couple of verses before, calling it 'as the Days of Noah': 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what [g]hour your Lord is coming. Then we'll have to ask ourselves what Jesus meant by saying: TWO men will be in the FIELD: one will be TAKEN and the other LEFT Who are the two? How one is taken? How the other is left?
