After teaching for a full day on the Friday, I went home, got changed then caught the train into London, excitingly took the Elizabeth line across London (exciting as it had opened just days before) and was headed for London Paddington station. We were able to sit in the First Class lounge as we waited for the GWR Night Riviera Sleeper Train to be made ready for us. They allow passengers to board a few hours before it is due to depart, so as I do my Night Riviera trip report and tour of our private hotel room like cabin, we were lucky to be sat still without the train swaying everywhere. The train took us overnight from London to Cornwall passing through gorgeous countryside and towns as we travelled. We were served a complimentary breakfast which we placed our orders for the night before to our train attendant and were allowed to access the first class lounge at Penzance station too.
