Anger Management for Kids - How to Be Angry

Anger management is not easy! Do you know how to be angry? Getting angry or upset unfortunately happens from time to time…and that’s ok! Everyone gets angry now and again. The key is not fighting your anger…but learning “how to be angry”. Remember, don’t hurt yourself, don’t hurt others, and don’t hurt property…just follow these simple steps instead! Step One: Walk Away Probably one of the best things you can do when you’re angry is to walk away. When we get mad, we usually don’t make the best choices. By walking away, you give yourself a chance to calm down and avoid doing something you’ll feel bad about later. Step Two: Count Back From 10 Sometimes we can get so mad that we feel like we are going to explode! Counting down from 10 can help calm you down. By the time you get to one…you should feel a whole lot better! Step Three: Breathe into Your Belly One of the best and simplest things you can do when you’re mad is just breathe. Breathing slowly helps you calm down. But not just normal breathing… give belly breathing a try! You want to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Place your hand on your belly so you can watch your tummy rise and fall as you breathe. A few minutes of this and you should feel right as rain! *DISCLAIMER – This video does not provide medical advice!
