How to Check Brake Pad Wear

In this short video I show you what to look for when doing a quick brake pad thickness inspection. This is simple work that should defiantly be included in your regular routine vehicle maintenance and inspections. I don't let my pads wear down more than around 3.5mm, and generally when I first identify that they require replacement is around 5mm, at which time they will get changed out in another 10,000km when I complete the my next tyre rotation. For the record my current pads have been in for around 50,000km (at time of video) and we live in a hilly area so I am surprised at how well they are lasting.
