This was a open drifting day hosted by Naoki, I was kind of disappointed with my driving recently so I asked Toshi for some tips. It was night and day with his advice, and from a few others at the event that day. When you watch videos of people driving at Meihan its sometimes really hard to see what they are actually doing. Having someone give direct advice was super helpful and I felt way more comfortable and safe driving here afterwards. I always had the assumption that you clutch kick towards the wall as the "feint" but his advice was to let the rear break loose naturally, and do one big clutch kick away from the wall. After this advice, It kind of all made sense. The car with the super grippy Pergea in the front and the wider track width helped. The car now continues the drift on throttle instead of just spinning out. It gave me more confidence to throw it backwards and get on throttle a bit sooner.
