2001 Honda Prelude Base My 2nd track day ever. 2nd time with Masstuning, Novice Class. No instructor, 1st time at NHMS. Session #3. Car was recently worked on and modified so this was to evaluate how well it is performing. Had massive oil pressure drop -30psi on uphill between 7&8 for sessions 1-3, so i added oil and you can see i lift to help maintain oil pressure. Session 4 seemed good when I added more. Had coolant hitting overheating signal (212 degF) in sessions 2-4, I tried to run cooldown laps and drive easy through the pits. My car never saw over 200 previous to this. IAT's at 123 degF. 80degree day, very sunny. Very busy day troubleshooting and evaluating, unfortunately some noises to figure out after today... Larger capacity Baffled oil pan is needed, and i am not sure about coolant temp, running mishimoto with upgraded fans. My guess is oil got hot and therefore coolant got hot. Brakes/Tires did well, they were getting warm in the high speed braking zone after the oval. As for my driving, ok overall. I would like some harnesses and upgraded seats to help keep me planted. Session #4 with a 981 cayman was excellent, wish the gopro wouldn't have ran out of battery and got hot. Too much shuffling with my hands, didn't know where to exactly place the car. Tried a couple lines on the bank and made more improvements last session. Ground 2nd gear 3 times at the high speed braking zone : ( Overall was down on power compared to a large portion of the cars there, but there was more than enough track for everyone and I appreciate the opportunity to drive at NHMS.
