I was jigging and working dark colored twister meanie curly tail jigs, bright colored bucktail jigs, and rapalas in eddies below a dam during the evening. I was trying to target walleye and smallmouth bass, and I ended up landing a couple of solid, tall-backed bass and some other decent fish before dark. I used 4 lb test the whole time for extra challenge, but that ended up being a bad choice I think because I also hooked into a big, powerful fish while jigging, and it spooled me across the river and against the current (on 4 lb test) before cutting me off on some rocks -- I think it was probably a giant carp, big channel catfish, or maybe a lip-hooked musky.
