Something very different for my channel this time. Notts and Derby are the contract side of Trentbarton, and their buses are thus hard to obtain. They do make sporadic appearances on Rail Replacement, a common one being Tamworth to Burton on Trent, for CrossCountry. On this day they sent two Omnidekkas and an Enviro 400, operating alongside one of The Green Bus’ recently acquired former Abellio E400s. YN56FDU is one of three former Metrobus Scanias that were acquired in 2016 - they operated routes around Croydon, and the 161 when in London. This one was numbered 940, the others with N+D being FDA (now 8, was 928) and FDZ (now 10, was 944, with this one also operating for the Docklands Buses subsidiary of Go Ahead London). Other OmniDekkas in the fleet are numbered 40-49, and are all long wheelbase examples new to Nottingham City Transport in 2003. Fellow Wellglade company TM Travel in South Yorkshire also have some from the same Metrobus batch. The nature of this rail replacement means most of the journey is spent maxed out - I’ve tried to keep this video varied between maxed out sections (and acceleration up to this), as well as the slower sections negotiating Tamworth.
