Imialuk: Tracing alcohol smugglers in Nunavik communities - Enquête

The sale of alcohol is forbidden or severely restricted in Quebec's Nunavik region, but bootleggers are skirting the rules. They ship bottles of liquor with high alcohol percentages to sell at steep prices. These high-proof spirits are potentially lethal and can result in an uptick in domestic violence, as well as physical and sexual assaults. Radio-Canada's Enquête follows the path of the bootleggers and the struggle to keep alcohol at bay in northern Quebec. Originally aired on Enquête in French on Feb. 6, 2020.
