I picked up the harmonica in 1993, I grew up in Brownsville Tennessee and the influence of music being close to Memphis and Nashville was always there. Sleepy John Estes was hometown blues-man that was a huge influence in my starting to learn to play the blues. Who are your inspirations and what was the inspiration behind the album? All music on the album was written by myself and my son Alex expect 'Death Letter Blues' and 'Can't be Satisfied'. My son grew up hearing me play and sing as I had two album releases in the 1995 and 1997. My influences as a harp player would be Charlie Musselwhite, John Popper, Junior Wells, Sonny Boy Williamson and Paul Butterfield. My inspiration for the album along with the joy of writing with my son was to try and center my music around all those varied influences mentioned. Could you tell our readers about the band and what makes you different from other artist? The band has a varied array of players. Steve Patterson had played Bluegrass prior to Blues, Most all the other players had either toured with Nashville country artist or Sun Record Rockabilly artist. I myself have played with a varied array of Country, Blues and Rockabilly artist. We mix all those influences up its a Tennessee and Mississippi Delta style with a flavor of Rockabilly , Rock and Country. Tell me about the album. The album has 11 songs..............9 original songs and 2 cover songs. Its all centered around the blues genre with different hints of the fore mentioned styles. Where was it recorded who produced it and how long did the process take? Recorded at: Jaxon Records, Jackson TN Engineered and mixed by: Jimmy Exum and Bridges Holwell Mastered by: Kevin Nix at L.Nix Studio, Memphis TN What is in store for the future? We are anticipating a busy schedule ahead. This year already we have performed almost 100 shows around the southeastern USA. Maybe a European and or British tour if we work out the details. We are keeping all options open as we are starting to see a great interest in our music locally and internationally because of the internet , ie; Itunes, CD baby. We play 2-3 times regularly a month on Beale Street, Memphis TN.
