Part 2 (of 3) - Our Attempt at the Three Passes Trek in Nepal | Kongma La Pass in a Snowstorm 😳

In this video, we take you through days 5 - 8 on our attempt at the Three Passes trek in the Khumbu region of Nepal. If you have not watched Part 1 already, we highly recommend you check that out to see days 1 - 4 of the trek. :)    • Part 1 (of 3) - Our Attempt at the Th...   Day 5 started out in Tengboche with another clear morning and amazing views down the valley with Everest peaking up above the surrounding mountains. We made the 12 KM hike from Tengboche to Dingboche. At this point in our trek, we seemed to get into a bit of a weather pattern with clear mornings and snow rolling in during the afternoons. We enjoyed the snowfall from a cafe in Dingboche while treating ourselves to some chocolate cake. :) Dingboche is an adorable village and even more idyllic and picturesque covered in snow. On day 6 we hiked from Dingboche to Chukung at an altitude of 4,730 meters (15,580 ft). Finally after making it to Chukung, we started feeling the effects of the altitude so we got a good night's sleep in preparation for day 7 which was going to be a big test for us! Day 7 was an acclimatization day in Chukung where we hiked to Chukung Ri at 5,550 meters (18,209 ft). This was a tough climb but the views were incredible and we successfully made it to the top! It really was a great confidence boost for what was coming next.. And finally on day 8, we had our biggest day yet.... our trek over Kongma La Pass at 5,535 meters (18,159 ft). It started out as a beautiful day but our luck wouldn't last long. It was a steep and very tough climb but after 6 hours of trekking, we successfully made it to the top of the pass just in time for the weather to to really take a turn for the worse. It started snowing on us so we quickly celebrated our accomplishment and started to make our way down. The snow did not let up on us the entire way to Lobuche. It was a long and very challenging day but we made it safely to Lobuche and spent the rest of the evening trying to stay warm by the stove! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Some of our FAVORITE Camera Gear: Fuji XT3: https://amzn.to/3ow4n62 DJI Mavik Air: https://amzn.to/38r5kH7 GoPro Hero 7: https://amzn.to/3nuNPtR Rode VideoMic Go: https://amzn.to/3oznJHi Joby GorillaPod 5K: https://amzn.to/38rWsRF Save $65 on your first Airbnb! https://www.airbnb.com/c/jtonkinson We get all of our songs ROYALTY FREE from Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referra...
