World Hydrography Day 2021 | UK Hydrographic Office

Celebrated each year on 21 June, World Hydrography Day was introduced by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) to highlight the importance of hydrography and the work of hydrographers across the world. The theme for 2021 is “100 years of international cooperation in hydrography” – chosen to showcase a century’s progress in knowledge and technology thanks to global partnerships across the hydrographic community. To celebrate this year’s theme, we have created a short video to showcase the UKHO’s rich history of partnerships. This includes the 140 collaborative partnerships established across the globe and our Primary Charting Authority responsibilities for 71 coastal states, to the work carried out through our International Hydrographic Programmes and International Training.
