I have gotten a lot of questions about how well the Miraco can scan detailed parts or be used for reverse engineering. I have to remind you that Revopoint make "hobby" scanners, but they have impressive specs and resolution. I just often see people comparing a hobby scanner to a professional scanner. They are in different ballparks for speed and accuracy. With that said, the Miraco and the Mini scanners from Revopoint offer up a single frame accuracy claim of 0.01mm. Is it too good to be true? In this video we review 3 different scans and talk about what works and what doesn't. Turbo - https://a360.co/3QNhxea Rim Casting - https://a360.co/3SPFxjI Marker Light - https://a360.co/47lQOwq The Miraco did great with the rim casting marks and the turbo. It had a little more trouble on the marker light due to multiple pieces, rubber gasket and deep cavities. A lot of scanners struggle here, but in the end we can capture enough details on each object to have something to work with. What I found through the process was that higher details scans do better with mesh processing(smoothing), while larger scans like car fenders do better with point processing (smoothing). When combining multiple scans together, having clean overlapping sections is a key detail.
