Bubble wraps and plastic bags are excellent for recycling when manipulated with heat. When many layers are fused together they create a new kind of material. This material retains very little of its original state and resembles mother-of-pearl. You can see in this workshop how to fuse layers of plastic together, and how from the piece of new material you can cut shapes like circles with the template. Circles are assembled into a dangly earring cluster design with jump rings, using pre-loved earrings and old broken jewellery. The design starts with fullness at the top, tapering with smaller circles at the bottom of the chain. The same technique can be applied to many creative jewellery designs.
