60103 Flying Scotsman Needs No Help With 12 Over The Settle And Carlisle - The Waverley - 10/09/23

On the 10th of September 2023, the world-famous 60103 Flying Scotsman hauled The Waverley rail tour from York to Carlisle and returned via the famous Settle & Carlisle railway. This was part of Flying Scotsman's Centenary celebrations and despite the odd thunderous downpour, the sun managed to be out for today's shots. The first shot is at Bingley as we see Scotsman pass through the tunnel, announcing itself as it works through the station. Our second shot is at Cragg Hill farm by Helwith Bridge as we witness 60103 climbing up the Long Drag unassisted towards Carlisle, despite the slight foliage, Flying Scotsman can be seen powering up towards Horton in Ribblesdale with ease. The final shot of the day is at Hellifield where we see 60103 round the bend before the level crossing before the last of the daylight faded away.
