Planting Milo for deer & birds LAST DITCH EFFORT... Can it work? 08-08-2019

Join me for a ride in the tractor and a joyride with the DJI phantom 4 pro drone as I make a total Last ditch effort (and another infamous experiment) at getting some 'spring' plots in the ground for our Illinois farm. I also replanted the corn and soybeans a few days earlier. And yes, I am well aware that this is very late to be planting them, but keep in mind that I did grow a successful fall plot 2 years ago that I planted on November 5th! So lets hit the field and see how my experiment begins shall we? At first I tried the old 4 row Allis Chalmers planter, but due to the disks being so worn it was just clogging up. So after another day or 2 of drying I broke out the 2 row Allis Chalmers and put the Milo plates in it and took a run at it! The good thing was that the corn and soybeans were free, so not much lost there if they don't grow much. The milo was an investment of 65.00, and the fertilizer was around 100 bucks, so not all that bad for an 8 or 9 acre experiment. The tractor I was using was my Branson tractor rehab, 6530, manual shift and manual clutch.
