Offset Smoker Exhaust Mod- Grate Level

I decided to cut and lower the stack to grate level. Then I weld the stack back into place at grate level. This is the final mod for my Texas Original Pit “Texas 1836” edition. In previous videos I did the following: - [ ] Changed rear door handle to look like a “Lang” door handle - [ ] Added “Chud” style firebox door notch - [ ] Framed in a firebox grate - [ ] Added a fire management “V” basket ( Frankenstein basket ) - [ ] Added water pan shelf to the cook chamber - [ ] Added two 3x 19 1/4 metal tuning plates to the cook chamber - [ ] Extended the stack with 4 inch diameter pipe by 17 inches. This makes the stack a total of 36 inches - [ ] Added Texas emblem door stop - [ ] Added Texas 1836 emblem to go over the firebox I personally noticed a better draw with the longer stack. The stack at grate level has helped to even out the temperature right to left. If you are going to order a Texas Original Pit you should ask them for the “Texas 1836” style you saw on YouTube. Maybe this video will go viral and I will become a major influencer and they will send me a free fire pit for my porch ! Probably not but you should ask about stack extension and placement. Horizon smokers does an “Icon” version which does the same thing.
