Royal Trinity Hospice - 360 Virtual Tour

Are you watching with card board or real VR googles? Ht the goggle icon in the bottom right of the screen and insert your phone into the viewer. Royal Trinity Hospice has launched an innovative 360-degree virtual reality video tour in collaboration with Flix Films, to show what life is really like inside England’s oldest hospice. Our commitment to improving patient experience means that VR technology will now provide patients and families with a ‘Virtual Hospice Tour’ that brings Trinity’s facilities, people and services to life and myth-busts frequently held assumptions about what hospices are really like. Trinity began working in collaboration with Flix Films on a ground-breaking project exploring the benefits of 360-degree virtual reality in palliative care in 2017. The project was designed to give patients and their families an opportunity to live out “bucket list” experiences, such as safaris and trips to Disneyland, virtually, towards the end of life. This has since developed into a break-through research study testing the benefits of immersive experiences on improving the symptom control and well-being of patients at the hospice. Royal Trinity Hospice is England’s oldest hospice and the local hospice for central and south west London. We believe that every moment matters so we go above and beyond to help our patients and their families make the very best of every moment they have left. Through individual and group support, our team of experts helps our patients to stay comfortable, active, independent, mobile and well for longer. We are here to support our patients’ emotional, physical, practical and spiritual needs, whatever they may be. Last year, we supported over 2,500 people in their own homes and through our inpatient and outpatient services in Clapham. We need to raise over £11 million every year to make sure we can continue providing the best quality personalised care, which is of course completely free. It’s a big task, but together we’ll get there.
