Amiga Music: (Enhanced Audio) Compilation #1

G'Day peeps, slight change up to the usual upload :)) I'm thinking of adding small compilations (2-4 tracks) of "enhanced audio" Amiga madness :S if these are good enough quality. I've been dabbling and playing around with Audacity lately to try and enhance some Amiga tracks. As most Amiga users/fans know, the Amiga's audio is 4 mono PCM channels connected to a stereo output, this means 2 channels for the left speaker and 2 for the right. This results in "hard panned" audio which imo sounds horrible in headphones or with large floor speakers wide apart. To remedy this you can either use cables or software to change to mono output which many do or do a stereo percentage join with software or hardware like a mixer, which is what I normally do. At the moment I usually do approximately 15% stereo separation with a mixer. Both these methods greatly increase the headphone listening quality imo but at a minor cost. The problem with mono output is you lose some range as certain sounds can get lost or muddied, with stereo joining you end up with an uneven balance which is dependent on the percentage separation. I'm going for a hybrid output as I do like a high percentage stereo separation for certain sections or samples but also keep some sections in a more mono output. Only other Audacity "effects" used are Amplify, minor Bass and Treble Adjust and Compressor. I'm not a huge fan of compression as you can increase too much sound and midrange and end up in the trap of a loudness war, another trap is reverb, I'm also not an expert in audio producing. I hope I haven't gone too far with Compressor but everyone's audio tastes are different, some will dislike and others will be pleased (hopefully) I'm pretty happy with the result but not completely. Included is the very recently released Gerp '24 winning killer track "Dan Dan Dada" plus 2 other previously uploaded tunes in Polymemoria and the slick remix of Zombie Cats Vandalism renamed Amigaism. Dan Dan Dada will be included in a future Amiga 2024 Compilation from real hardware with the usual sound settings. NOTE: This video has been normalised to 77% volume by Youtube :( TRACKLIST 01 - [00:00] JosSs^Mygg^Bonefish - Dan Dan Dada 02 - [04:07] AceMan - Polymemoria 03 - [08:34] Comatron - Amigaism The Amiga is a series of computers released by C=ommodore from 1985 to 1993.
