Behold, a rare and extraordinary helical stepwell that had been long neglected but has now undergone a remarkable restoration. The term "helical" refers to a shape that follows a spiral curve around a central tube or cone. This exceptional stepwell is situated in Walur Village, located in Maharashtra's Parbhani district. With spiral steps encompassing eight sides leading to the well shaft and eight Devakoshta (small shrine niches) positioned above the steps, this architectural marvel is a sight to behold. Over the years, the stepwell had fallen victim to neglect and was filled with rubbish and debris. However, the locals of Walur village took up the noble task of conducting a massive cleanliness drive to restore the stepwell's pristine beauty. Believed to be between 1000 and 1500 years old, this historical gem became the focus of a conservation campaign initiated by the local administration and village residents.
