Our morning routine w/ a toddler on dialysis

We're finally sharing our (UNIQUE) morning routine. For over 300 days now, our son has been on peritoneal dialysis in-home, every night! Dialysis itself runs for ten ours, but once it is done, the first thing we do is get our son free of the tubes!! He is getting closer to a kidney transplant, but because of his size that is not an option right now. In the meantime we have been working hard to iron out a routine that gets everything accomplished and helps us stay sane, lol. Our morning routine involves disconnecting him from dialysis, making his food blends, measuring out medicines and finishing up by watching his "hallelujah" (worship music) DVDs. We hope this sheds light into what goes into the day-to-day care of a medically complex kiddo, and can inspire other families to keep the keeping on, if they find themselves in similar seasons.
